Your Keys To Success

I’m always interested in everyone’s opinion of what they believe it takes to be successful.  Everyone seems to know which qualities and attributes we need to have and just how many to be a success.  And for the longest time, I thought that a master key, a key that if everyone could use if they wanted to, didn’t exist.  How could it?  If it did, how come so many people hated their lives, or weren’t progressing in life and in their business like they wanted to?  After all, they would just have to follow a series of steps or portray a collection of attitudes and that should be it, right?  How could the same key(s) you use for your life and profession be applied to your neighbor’s life and to his brother’s life and his brother’s boss’ life?  In other words, how could there be universal standard for success if we’re all so different and have different aims?  Maybe there is no key.  Maybe it’s just dumb luck and random chance.

Or maybe we all have our own set of keys and we just have to figure out how to unlock our own dreams and our own progress.

The truth of the matter is, there are keys to success.  Individual keys.  And we each possess our own set.  However, not everyone uses them.  I can’t explain why some choose not to pick them up.  It could be out of fear, or uncertainty.  It could be because they’re afraid how great they can be at something and that is too new to them.  Many of us may laugh at the notion of having a fear of success, but it does it exist.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” – Marianne Williamson

When looking for success, don’t look outside yourself.  Everything we’ve ever needed to be great at something we already possess.  You may argue, ‘well, what about knowledge and information?  Isn’t that why there are colleges and universities?’ If we didn’t have a brain, a mind of own, there would be no information or knowledge to seek out.  It all begins with a thought.

Your business began with a thought.  A concept, no less.  What you wanted to do, what you thought you could do better than anyone else.  It’s an extension of who you are because it was something you built from within. Using your own keys to success.

But you gotta know what those are.  You gotta find out and own them.  They are yours and yours alone to open any door you want. I’m not saying that door is going to have everything you want behind it, but it will be the start to owning your success.

Tenacity.  Patience.  Understanding.  Business Savvy.  Charisma.  Friendliness.  Resourcefulness.  Determination.  Endurance.  Fight.  Drive. Vision. Hope.  Willfulness.
