Remember these as a child?
The paper fortune tellers?
Four little boxes, 2 simple directions and eight waiting numbers…
But this wasn’t a magic 8-ball…
this was our fortune as we wrote it.
We decided the colors or terms,
we decided the numbers and messages,
and when we opened it up inside —
we already knew the words.
We wrote out the fortune.
On a small square sheet of paper, we decided what our choices would be
how many moves we would get and which flap to flip.
And if we were smart —
we wrote the messages we wanted to get.
So now that we have more at stake and we’re actually playing for keeps,
we calculated our risk and put everything on the line —
why haven’t we continued designed our own fortune?
